Keeping up with its good name, Kohjinsha has announced another addition to its subnotebook lineup, revealing the W130 series. Like other KJS machines, this series also boasts Tablet PC functionality with a swiveling 8.9-inch touchscreen display. And yes, it runs on Vista too.
Other features include a 1.33GHz Atom processor, dual webcams (why do you need two?), DVD burner, 1GB RAM, and 60GB HDD. It tips the scales at 2.75 pounds. Look for it in Korea or through importers. (Source: Michael Kwan, Mobile Magazine)

When you're shopping for a laptop, keep in mind that the bigger the screen, the bigger the computer. A larger monitor also tends to add more weight and drain the battery faster than smaller screens. This shouldn't be as much of a concern for those whose laptop will be used as a desktop replacement, plugged into a wall's electrical outlet for its power. Tablet PCs, which let you write on the screen with a stylus pen, are also smaller and lighter in design than traditional laptops, but tend to cost more. (Source: Marc Saltzman, The Gazette)

If you’ve seen one mini-notebook, you might think you’ve seen them all—that is, until you lay eyes on the Gigabyte M912V. Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Gigabyte, most known for making motherboards, has introduced this hybrid tablet to make some waves in what’s becoming a flooded mini-notebook market. The stylish M912V sports a unique 8.9-inch, swiveling touchscreen and is powered by a 1.6-GHz Intel Atom processor and 1GB of RAM. For $699 the touch and tablet experience are good for the price; however, this system suffers from poor battery life, uncomfortably hot temperatures, and a cramped keyboard.
